How is the upgrade working for everyone?

Just a little nervous about applying an upgrade with so many fixes. My site is active and I don't want a major meltdown. How has it been going for those of you that have applied it?

You can always make a test installation and give it a go. And you can also always backup your current web site and give it a shot. Either way, you should be denying all external access while upgrading, so any issues can always be easily repaired.

I have upgraded three websites, only had a problem with one that had Custom Profile fields it seemed to mess the Languages on the Custom fields, but easily fixed.

If I do find any other problems I'll let you know.

The best way to backup your current database? Just use the export function in phpmyadmin? or use the function in Dolphin (which sucks btw because you have to do each table individually)

Never mind, I found another tab (LOL)

You just answered your own question.

Go figger

I'd find a bug in the database backup. I click on the second tab to open the full database backup screen, click on the 'save to my PC' radio button, it then thinks for a while and eventually I get a 404 error. I refresh the page and I'm back in the default backup screen.

If you continue to have issues, contact your web hosting provider and let them know you're installing a just released update to Dolphin. They'll bend-over bakwards to provide a proper backup for you, I'm sure.

I have a VPS. I can access my own database. I can just export a copy of the database. If I do it that way, then I can import it back in if i need to do so right?

As long as it's an uncorupted .SQL file, then it should work just fine.

Just tried it here - seems to work okay - although does take an age for the save dialog to appear.

I did come across a bug related to the sounds module, but not sure that this is definitely related to the update - in any case it should not be an issue for an upgrade. http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Sounds-Module-Installation-Removal-Issue.htm

I am having an issue...

I got to step:

Reinstall 'Profiler' module from admin panel -> Tools -> Modules (you can leave it uninstalled, but do install and uninstall)

The thing is, is that i already had Profiler Module installed. So, i checkmarked it under "Installed Modules" and clicked "UNINSTALL".

Now, under "Not installed modules", when i try to checkmark it and click INSTALL.

It tells me: Installation of: Profiler Failed

Please advise.

Yes - if you already had profiler installed it will still be installed after the upgrade. Not sure if it is absolutely necessary to uninstall and reinstall it, as the version number gets updated as part of the update process. I did just to be on the safe side and had no issues.

If you click on the plus sign next to the error it will give you some more information

The main issue with the profiler is trying to re-install it before updating header.inc.php with the new version build.

http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/Profiler-Module-Issue.htm

The upgrade instructions should tell you to edit inc/header.inc.php before reinstalling Profiler, not after.

I found my issue. I asked for a little help from my friends at HFW getting my RMS working the other day. For some reason, they decided the hostname for my server was wrong and changed it back to the old one. Since the old address (at towjobs) had been removed, the emails from the server at towjobs.com failed. LOL! Totally freaked me out. Couldn't understand how the hostname could magically change back to an old one. Of course I chewed their asses for making a change like that without asking me first or at least telling me about it.

Now please don't make more out of this than necessary. I'm going to chalk it up to a little miscommunication. HFW has performed very well for me so far.

I found the issue. It seems you have to update inc/header.inc.php with the Builder "1" before you do anything else!

Mostly went ok for me apart from two third party modules that the links no longer work e.g. get the Object Not Found page.   The standard boonex modules are ok.

Fixed it:   just had to copy over rewrite rules from old htaccess for third party modules

May be is a stupid question : i make some modification to various files, when i upgrade from 7.0.0 to 7.0.1 i will lose the modifications i have make?

Thank you.

My upgrade went smooth. Just need to update the compatability version number on my own modules, and test them to make sure they work on 7.0.1 then release the updates.

My template had a bit of a problem, but easy to fix.

The update was nothing. It's going to take me all day if not longer to release updated versions of all my mods.

No such thing as a stupid question.

The answer is both yes and no. Most likley yes to most of your mods due to the number of changed files in this update.

Basically, any file included in the patch will over write your current ones, so if any of those have mods, then yes, they will need to be redone.

I've now fixed the issue with a tip from mychillspot - I set the timer to 9999999999 seconds - anything less seemed to clear the messages within a very short space of time, that didn't equate the the value entered. Seems strange that the message duration should be measured in seconds - surely it should at least be minutes?

Anyhows - the tip worked - hope it helps someone else - Thanks mychillspot.
