How know if cron job is right and running

Hi all,

Befoire all, I'm french, so excuse my bad English... Laughing

I'm a new user of Dolphin script and i just install it. It's look like exactly what i search, but i discover the script again, and it's not always simple Tongue out

I'll have a problem with the cron job, like a lot of people. I receveid mail with "[...]: is a directory". I've contact my hoster, he indicated me what to do. I think it resolved the problem.

But, now, i don't received e-mail after each cron job.

So, how know if the cron job is right and running good ?

Is it normal to haven't mail after cron job ? Is there a method to know if cron job running good ?

Thanks a lot.

Menzo

Is your site uploading and then playing videos correctly?  Are the notifications going out to your members?  These are all good signs that your cron jobs are running correctly.  Would you like an e-mail every time it runs a cron successfully?  That would be ALOT of e-mails if your sites busy.

Thanks mydatery for your answer.

For the uploading and playing video, i don't know because i'm for the moment on a shared environment and Shell_Exec and POPEN are disabled.

My site is not exploited for the moment. I just test the script and there isnt members. For the moment, i don't know if i will use the video module.

I think understand the cron job is only need for the video and sound upload and play. Is it ?

For the mail every time it runs a cron, I won't. I calculed the numbers and receveid 1440 mail a day, 525600 a year... Surprised

Thanks again for your answer. I think it running correctly and when I pass on a dedicated web server, i'll test it.
