How can the site admin access the Join form?
As an admin, need to manually add users occasionally & it would be really helpful to use the Join form while logged in to do this. Unfortunately loading http://dolphinsite.com/join.php loads the Account page. =(
Thanks! |
that is a missing function. if you want to brave the database, there is a script on here somewhere where you can brute force the user into the database. but for the admin to add a user, you would need to logout as admin, and create the user account as if you were that person.

That's what I figured.
Guessing it's not even as easy as determining where the redirection occurs, since there are probably user ID conflicts preventing logged in users from creating new accounts. =(

It makes no sense to allow logged-in users to create new accounts, since they already have an account. I can understand administrators needing this feature, but it's something that will have to be added to the administration panel (or studio, depending on the version).

Exactly what I'm referring to (see original post).

Can you tell me how complicated it is to do? Might try myself if it is straightforward. Unfortunately this is for a non-profit & money is very tight these days.

im wondering something on this. just because something is stated as non-profit, does that automatically proclaim being broke?
typically non-profits are setup by an organization, and registered, non-profit status gives some levity to tax ascensions but to no level that i am aware of, would a non-profit be started from the premise we are a non-profit because we have no money.

Of course not. Some non-profits which generate plenty of money. This is not one of them. Everything is done by volunteers, including creating an entire website, without charge, to promote its aims.

Mister Popper please do it! :) All my members have to be added manually. Would be so
Much more secure from a page only admin can access. :) |
Seems like it would be a good mod that would come in handy here and there. Should also have the functionality to send email/reminder for the admin added user to fill in the rest of there profile information after creation (maybe in seperate activation email)

It should have been a feature in Dolphin from the start. Every other script I have ever used had this functionality out of the gate. It;s stupid that an administrator can't add a new member if he wishes without jumping through a bunch of hoops.
Of course, someone could always build us another 'paid' mod to fix what shouldn't have been broke in the first place eh?
Non profit my ass..

im with you there Sky, there are a tremendous amount of administrative functions that have been purposely left out of the Boonex Release, i say purposely, so the market could grow by the premier developers releasing modules with functions that should have been part of the core release.
there was a time, when you would report a function as not working on trac, and then three days later one of the staff will have a module released in the market for $35-$40.00
at least that seems to have waned .
