How to avoid page to reload when user "join"

When someone joins a group by pressing the join button, the page reloads.

Can that be avoided?

Of course that can be avoided. Just don't press the join button.

guess you are on the wrong forum

haha! Here's an idea, just disable the button, then no one could join..... probably gonna be the case anyway since the site is gonna move at the speed of light....

Why is the page reload a problem?  Is it reloading slowly to the point that someone might think the site is not working?  If so, then you might want to rethink your server and not working to change the way the group join button works.

nothing to do with speed. (I never mentioned that ;)

It has no sense in reloading the page. Does facebook or any other social network reloads if you follow/join?

Also because some of the pages have music, and if it reloads, it restarts the track

Expertzkris is correct - the best way to have this implemented would be to hire somebody to do it for you. There's no way somebody on the forums will take the time necessary to research into everything and explain how to implement this.
