How to change dolphin site from sub folder to root folder.

Hello,

I tried updating my current 7.0.6 Dolphin to 7.0.7 and screwed things up.

So now, I would like to download a new copy of 7.0.7 to my root.

My current 7.0.6 Dolphin is in a sub folder.

Is there a way to transfer all my 7.0.6 members, blogs, etc to the new 7.0.7 root file?

Thank You in advance,

Allen

Yes you can do this the only thing you need to edit is you dolphin database

example: youdoamin.com/subfolder to yourdomain.com

export your database and  open your database with notepad then click Edit:

Then click Replace:

Add on Find wath: youdoamin.com/subfolder

Add on Replace with: youdoamin.com/

then click Replace All

Press S to save changes

Then import your the new databse you edit

if you ca't do this please I'll to do this for you if you want

I seem to be getting an error message:

"You attempted to load file with unsupported compression (application/zip). Either support for it is not implemented or disabled by your configuration."

I'm on a Mac and compressed the sql file with .zip format.  I named the file the same as the default database name of the Dolphin 7.0.7 "aeumedia_DOLNEW.sql.zip"

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

allen,

are you hosting on a mac, or running a mac from the house, and getting that notice from the server on an attempted import on the sql?

provide a touch more details there. and we can drive you in the correct direction, or drive you crazy trying to get you there.

Ooo o you dont need to compress you dolphin database

remember follow my step the delete the old on then import the new one

you dont need to compress the sql to import it back

When you compress a file so you can upload the file more faster

use winzip.com
