How to completely remove / uninstall dolphin 7

Hello,

I just installed Dolphin 7 to Linux Server with Plesk 10 and nothing works.

After the screen that asked me to remove the install dir, nothing opened and when i hit the /administration,

most of the menus dont have images.

I want to completeley unistall the current intallation so i re-install it from the scratch.

So what should i do.

Please tell me step by step because im totaly new at this. Not just "remove the files!".

Also are there any specific things that i should do for plesk10 installation.

PS tell Parallers to update their pre-installed software (they still have dolphin 6) it would make our life easier.

steps as follows :-

Delete all files of dolphin in the file manager.

Drop all tables from the database or delete the full database.

Remove the cron if any.

That's it! i don't think i missed anything.

Good luck

so much to do....

Prashank25,

Thank you for your time!

I would like to ask you which are dolphin files and folders?

There are many folders and files in the root.

Also before that i was in an other server with plesk 9. There i have noticed that there was a folder named dolphin but now there is not such a thing.

The deletion step for files and directories will of course be more difficult if other scripts are installed in the same directory.  You can download Dolphin and view the file and directory contents and work from there.

nathan is correct on this one, and if you installed dolphin or attempted to install dolphin on a directory that had other scripts on it, then that was a bad idea.

so you are going to have to download dolphin, extract the fileset, and then from your file manager or FTP, or SSH, you will need to remove each file that is dolphin related.

then as prashank stated, remove the database.

then you most likely need to create a subdomain, or subdirectory to install dolphin on since you are new to dolphin and unfamiliar with the file structure.

good luck

thank you all! You are really helpful.

true i could extract dolphin and compare the files and folders.

I have installed it inthe root folder where i didn't have anything else installed except the files/folders that plesk10 had already.

Final question: What if i re-install dolphin with the same proccedure again in the root folder without uninstalling it first? will it overwrite the previous and work well or there might be conflicts?

You cannot really rely on things getting properly overwritten. It's best to delete everything.

I am not sure how you uploaded the files before. But it's best you upload the zip file to the server and unpack it there rather than unpacking locally and uploading them via FTP. Reason is there are so many files and if even a couple of them do not properly upload it can mess up the entire install.
