How to create a step by step join process

I'd like to have a step by step registration process, kind of like facebook which can help build their profile

After they complete the basic info, then the click on the email link, can they go to a page with 4 steps (with the ffunction to skip this step as well)

So, like on one step the can go through auth for facebook and twitter

then add other info etc..

anyone got any ideas on this? or can help? i'd be happy to pay

umm, this isn't want I was after, i want users to add basic info first, like, name, email, gender and password

then user gets email confirmation link, which then takes them to a more details join page, but broken down into steps. like how facebook do their join process

 Is that not what the Module I sent you does for the automaticlly.............It appears this is becoming quite popular as I see it everywhere now.  Why have them enter info that can be done by simply pressing a button?  Like FB connect?  Just curious why you want them to do it manually?

i totally agree with you, but its what the client wants, so have to try and give them what they want

Their old php site has this sign up process, but decided to move to dolphin for the extra features. If I could some how import the php script and use that, that it can write into the database some how and populate their profile maybe? but I aint all that good

IMHO and that all it is as a person who is making it happen / advisor for the client is it not part of that job to bring them up to speed? A large number of times the client has no idea the other is available.  Even when requested sometimes don't you have to have the phrase.........Help Me......Help You..........

This would also solve your issue............Have you used the new quick sign ups? 

The quicker and easier the end user can join the better off everyone is.  As I go to other sites now if i don't see the easy join button......I simply move on not that I am some kind of mark to compare to but I have had more people join in one week than last month combined with the new easy join button.  The great thing is they then follow the video to make edit changes........Good luck on the other but they will want to change once they see how easy it is and how much info is brought across.......

yes, i agree with what you're saying, we have facebook connect and twitter, but this wouldn't let them choose their colour scheme, or add their first story, or add their apps.

so even after they connect and most of the profile info is there, the about me wouldn't be filled out, they would have to go to a page to add their own story and choose colour etc...

so there is a good reason to encourage manual sign up and add facebook and twitter account later, because this is the aim of the site

So if anyone knows how i can get something like this, please help
