How to edit Chat male/female (and more)

To customize the chatroom text such as user caption, lobby caption and more you need to edit the file located in flash/modules/chat/langs/english.xml

To remove the male/female, or age indication next to a user name take out #sex# and #age# in the key txtUserCaption

To add a custom message to every lobby heading add it to the txtRoomCaption between CDATA[ ... ]

You can edit much more in here and customize it to say what you want it to say.

That saves me a walk through the forest for another day. At the rate that this kind of question gets asked, I'd suggest this get a sticky.

Good info Mauricecano! Very useful. And just to think you could have zipped this up and sold it in the market for a Gajillion Bazillion...pennies :)

Thank you for the info on this!!!

Shouldn't this be made a "sticky" post ? I'm surely NOT the only one who was looking for this info..

Hello !

I edited the file in public_html/flash/modules/chat/langs/english.xml  and restarted the RMS server but I still get the old profile indicator. I have removed the #sex# from the key, also modified some other greeting text and it still shows even after RMS was restarted.

Is there something else to change?

Also i have other files on same dir :

english.xml.orig   english.xml.pam

those are copies from the original english file.

Thank you.
