How to hide Add, My, Home buttons from non-admins?

For many of the modules, I would like the "Add", "My" and "Home" trio of buttons to be *only* accessible to members (aka "Fans") of a select private Group.  I assume the code reference would be by Group ID.  I would use this Group to control who can post certain types of content to the site, e.g. News, Articles, Blogs and Events.  I do not want to create yet another membership level just to do this.  I imagine it's not enough to simply hide the "Add" button, the ability to add content (access the "Add" page) would also need to be controlled.

If restriction by Group ID is not possible then my second choice would be to restrict "Add" access to admins... which can be done through membership Actions.  But then I'd need to make a lot of people admins... not my preference.

I've attached an image to show an example of the three buttons I'm referring to.  If I can get an example solution for the News module, then I can use it as reference for changing other modules.

TIA
