Please do let me know.

If you want, you can try an integration yourself using the IPBWI (Invision Power Board Website Integration), which was used as the base of the last attempt for an integration two years ago.

The search for an Invision Power Board integration is a joke, and you of all people know that.

But, yes. Orca is a joke, too. Comma.

How is my need for an IPB integration a joke?  I don't get it.   I haven't actively pursued a coder to take on the job, because I wanted to see more 7.0.1 tickets closed first, but I'd hardly call this need a joke.

Ah, I see. You are misunderstanding me, believing that I am referring to the need for an integration as a joke, but what I really mean is that the fact that we have yet to see one makes this seem like some sort of a sick joke.

I just find it amazing that while we have hundreds of phpBB and vBulletin integrations, we do not have a single integration for Invision Power Board, not counting that abandoned attempt on Expertzzz. And it's not just Dolphin, but nearly every script out there, even including Drupal. I just don't understand why no one's bothering with it.

I have found IPB to be the most powerful board out there compared to phpBB, vBullitin (a good solid script) and especially ORCA (a joke)

I hope some person will come up with a IPB v3 mod.

Regards

Peter

Don't you hate it when you have to explain jokes.

I'll end up spending the big up-front dollars to get this done, and everyone else will get it at a fraction of the initial cost afterwards.  I can live with that however, if it means good, ongoing support for the integration.  I figure the more the developer makes off a mod, the better it will get.

I've asked several Boonex developers if they wanted to take a crack at this.... for pay of course.  They all seem to be too busy cranking out mods that add frivolous little features, but none of them want to address a giant gaping hole in functionality.  No offense to Boonex developers, but some of those 'Mods' being cranked out, look like early aborted attempts of certain feature implementations, that got salvaged from the recycle bin.  It seems as though it's all about making the quick bucks with the least amount of work.  Sometimes it's even about withholding certain functionalities, so as not to have a negative effect on certain mod sales in the future.  That's the one that really pisses me off, and believe me, I wouldn't say something like that unless I could prove it.  It's called conflict of interest where I come from.  But... rather than creating a giant shit storm that would benefit no one, I'll just keep that proof to myself.

Anyway, I contacted the coder that I want working on this.... hopefully an IPB integration will be forthcoming.

It looks like the Kraken has been released. Or is that craken? Dunno... I hope the IPB/dolphin developer is the one I was thinking about and made a few references to.

It is.   He is one of the few unpretentious individuals around here that I would trust with a project such as this.

I haven't heard back, but if he's still up for the job, the first thing I want to do is get a scope of work document drafted, so nothing is left in doubt... insofar as what the deliverables are.
