How to make members "Featured"

Is it just me or is making members "featured" a big hassle.

I see the FEATURED check box for each member, in admin.  When I check the box and try to save, it either warns me to fill out other required fields or requires me to fill in member's password.

I must be missing something because it shouldn't be this difficult.

Any suggestions?

You will either have to fill in the required fields, (especially if they joined with Facebook Connect), or make the fields an open (not required) field.

The easiest way is to go into your cpanel->phpmyadmin->choose your database->profiles->username->edit->featured->change value from 0 to 1->go/save... or you could message the member to fill out his/her join form and DO AWAY WITH FACEBOOK CONNECT option.

yeah, that's what I've been doing is the database route.  Just surprised that it's a feature (no pun intended) that's basically useless.

It works fine on my site, but I don't activate Facebook connectors until they complete a join profile.  That Facebook connect option is no good.  You can't send mass e-mails to facebook  connect members because they don't have to enter an e-mail address to join and they don't have to complete the entire profile form. and a couple of other things... I am getting ready to remove the mod

do this by editing your members profile from admin panel :)
