How to make shoutbox appear for non-members?

The shoutbox is cool, so I'd like someone who hasn't joined yet, to be able to see the activity on our homepage...but not be able to use the feature unless they join.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There should be an option for this under the Shoutbox module's settings under administration, modules, shoutbox.

This is all I see for options in this area:

1. Shoutbox update time in milliseconds

2. Number of the saved messages

3. Allow to procces smile's codes

4. Clean messages older than (sec)

that's all I see

I was thinking of Dolphin 6.1. In Dolphin 7, you need to change the permissions for guests. This can be done from administration, settings, membership levels. There will be several options for the Shoutbox module.

Thx!

I added a "guest" member for 0 - $0 and checked off "use shoutbox" (there was no other shoutbox option)

But I did not see the shoutbox apear on the homepage still...

Check "Visible for: Guest" option at Pages Blocks.

Try this:

1. Go to Admin

2. Click Builders

3. Choose Pages Blocks

5. Click Home Page on the dropdown

6. Then double click your Shoutbox Page Block

7. If "Visible for: guest" is uncheck then you need to tick or check it.

Have tried this on 7.0 and it works for me.

You are suppose to modify the non-member's membership level, as that is the membership level for guests.

DUDE..this worked like a charm!!! thx bro'

No way to disable a guest from posting a shout however I presume??

I'm trying to make the avatar bigger in the shoutbox....and when I did, I lost parts of the text in the shout- as the larger avatar was cutting into it.

How to solve?
