How to set free membership by default?

I'm running a completely free community and I'm not planning to charge anything to any of the members. How do I set free membership that never expires vy default? Any idea?

I could have sworn that Dolphin runs in a "free mode" by default, with the option to have payed membership included.

Man, I'm going to have to let my members know that we've been doing it the wrong way.

I donno if I disable promotional membership, will the new members become standard members when registering on the website?

Promotional membership is meant mostly for web sites which include payed membership options, as a way to give you a taste as to what to expect with a payed membership level. You can disable this, and just customize the standard membership level to meet your needs.
