HowTo iphone App for member DL

iPhone App in DL block for members I want to do. I've downloaded it but want to know how I put it in dl block as the current link doesn't point it to a dl source. And how do they install it.

Thank

They can search Boonex or OO from within I-Tunes apps. Download it from there.

Chris do I make it a dl link from my website. I know how to do that. I just want to know how boonex wants us to do it. If I rebrand it, do I do it as a dl link from my site?

Thank

Hey Jenn,

I do not think that a member can use the DL link from your site at the moment. Since the App has to be installed while using your I-Phone, you have to get it from the I-Tunes market instead. The link that used to exist in the "Downloads" area just redirected to Boonex's website talking about the app.

Perhaps you should enter "lworld.com.au" and not the directory of your administration panel.

You could be talking about either two things, so I will be more than happy to clear-up both.

iPhone application: after purchasing a license (or Prime) to re-brand the application, you may re-brand it to your liking and then re-submit it to the Apple App Store. BoonEx will not submit the application for you. I do not recall how you go about being able to re-brand it, but I believe you are given access to the source code. To develop, or re-brand the iPhone application, you must have the iPhone developer tools installed, and must be on a computer running Mac OS X.

Desktop application: this application is powered by Adobe AIR, which also means it is multi-platform (can run on any platform that Adobe AIR runs under). In reality, .AIR files (Adobe AIR applications) are actually ZIP files, which means you can extract them with most decompression software. You may have to rename the file extension to do this, though. The only issue is, once you extract them, you may discover that the files can be in any kind of format, which in the case of the Dolphin desktop application, I believe it is Flash. I'm not entirely sure how far you can go for editing this application, so you will have to go adventurin'. Of course, make sure you have the right to do this before actually doing it.

Also, I do not believe you are actually allowed to re-brand this application, but either way, it's a good read.

Update: I just extracted the .AIR file and found it quite easy to edit. There you go.

Hi Jenn

Go to your control panel (host) and look for sys_box_download then look for _sbd_iPhone_title You will see the boonex link in there. Put a new link from your site there and upload the app to your site to correspond with the new path.

Any problems give me a shout.

<quote>Brake...downshift!

Discussions recently took an alternate route with regard to peculiarities in the Prime license features concerning the distribution of desktop re-brands and mobile app re-branding allowances. So I'm here now to throw you a few curves...

To recap - one mobile and 3 desktop re-brandings were allotted to the Prime license. For Prime customers desiring more than one re-branding instance, the machinations were way too involved to calculate. It never worked out without some unwanted or unneeded extras. Long story short:

The discussion grew to encompass customer wants and needs, both for Prime and all other licenses, and in the end - things changed ... and they changed a lot! NOW, long-sought mobile app re-branding can be purchased for any license, and Desktop re-branding is completely without charge - for any license! YEP!

A purchase of one mobile app re-branding will bring those rights to any license now. Some of the details of this and the information to handle these apps are available in a forum post by Alex T at:  http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/iPhone-app-rebranding-information.htm

Until purchasing links for this are in place (hoped for by end of this coming week), requests for these will be handled manually and the price for separate re-branding licenses is going to be $299. If you get them separately (not with Prime) it will be located in the "My Licenses" section of your Unity account. Don't forget - no charge to re-brand Desktop any more either - across the board!

Another little bit thrown in - the iPhone app license may also be used as a Dolphin permanent license, and vice-versa. So, if iTunes doesn't accept your app for some reason - you can still use the license.

Check things out as the week progresses, but more details will surely follow as this is is all put into place. Heads up, and resume normal speed!</quote>

Yep we are allowed awesome thanks. Everyone is loving my site as much as me its fantastic.. See new pic of me smiling lol

Well, I suppose the first thing you can change are the icons, as they are right there when you open up the extracted folder. As for what else to edit, I'm not too sure, as I've never messed with the Desktop application. At most, you'll have to look around. If you want to edit the actual Flash files, I will be more than willing to give you a copy of the source (FLA) files. Since BoonEx has chosen not to provide us with the source code to the Flash applications, I have taken the liberty to decompile them myself since the early first Beta release.

How are you connecting to your web site via the application? You should be entering the url as "yoursite.com" and then entering your login information.

Perhaps your server is not accepting the connection?

I have answered this for a few people already, and it cleared up some confusion about the "site URL".

The only way I have gotten the app to work is when I use the root URL, preceeded with "www.".

So, www.yoursite.com.

yoursite.com, http://yoursite.com, http://www.yoursite.com, or www.yoursite.com/index.php will not work.

I have tried every different combination of URL. My site is in a folder not in the root

So I have been using: http://mysite.info/folder/ or www.mysite.info/folder/

and none of them work I still get the connection error.
