Everywhere we go, we speak in acronyms. pretty soon the English language will be nothing but Acronyms. I had to go P, then ran to the McD only to be ... well, you get my idea. Anyway...
I noticed an issue over the last week with my IE8 and I want to see if anyone else has noticed it.. Before you start lambasting me for using it, most developers will tell you that it is necessary to build to it because there are so many AOL users using it. (You do know what AOL stands for right?)
I have been having troube getting my site to open in IE8. Mostly I get a cannot connect error. Page won't display, etc. Now, I just had an issue where I could not connect to my email server with Outlook Express, same domain name. A quick launch with Firefox (after I sent a seething email to HostForWebs that I later had to apologize for) showed the site loading fast as ever with no issues.
Of course, once I loaded it with Firefox, all of a sudden, IE8 worked. I still couldn't get to the email server from OExpress though.
I went into IE8 and set my site (towjobs.com) up as approved to display popups by adding the site *.towjobs.com to the little window.
I now have no problems accessing my site. Both the browser and the email server are now completely accessible.
Remove towjobs from the approved popup list and the problem returns, put it back in, problem disappears. It's completely reproducable....
Another reason to smack Gtes right on the frikkin forehead... Has anyone else experienced this?
