The script will continue to work without issues, but will revert back to "free mode" due to the lack of connection to the server. And even still, the ability to decode the encoded portions of the script and completely nulling both it and the related Flash applications are both easy and well known, with even myself knowing how to go about it. The code is open source, so there is still the ability for some developers to band together and continue the needed advancement, even if just for the sake of their own web sites.
But that's a worse case scenario, which isn't all that bad. In a best-case scenario (besides the company never ceasing operations), BoonEx will completely open source the script and all related materials, giving the users complete access and control to continue their web sites without restriction.
Or, perhaps a company (Skadate? Oh, blame me for joking about) will purchase the assets and take control of the script, in which case the fate of any licenses, etc, will become unknown and up to the new ownership, whoever that would be.
This has been asked and further discussed numerous times in the past, and to be honest, it always ends with everyone agreeing that the worst is not all that bad, as we have the knowledge and access to continue the needed development ourselves, if the need arises. Besides, I wouldn't expect BoonEx to suddenly go belly-up, as they make quite allot of money off of the licenses, and there are people who in fact purchase Prime. Take this into consideration (and the sheer amount of web sites that operate with a payed license), it's not very easy for myself to imagine BoonEx suddenly closing shop. I suppose if VictorT ever goes missing, we'll know the worse is upon us.
Afterall, we all know he'd be the first to go.
