Image map as opposed to Boonex Community logo?

Hi again. I know that the community logo can be changed from within the admin dashboard, but which physical files would I need to edit if I wanted to replace that image with a small clickable image map of sorts? We plan on having a hand full of ready made, freely accessible functions that we want to implement on an image map right there. And while I'm at it, could someone point out where in the CSS files I'd need to edit something in order to place my own custom background as a default to all D7 screens (other than in the profiles where members can have their own backgrounds anyway). I'm talking about the background that appears to the left and right of the promo block, as well as the spaces in between the blocks of the start page. Some step by step input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Alright, never mind about the backgrounds. Still need to know about the image map though ...

1) ./templates/base/sub_header.html; look for "__main_logo."

2) ./templates/base/css/general.css; to be honest, I forgot which one exactly handled the background for the entire page, but it shouldn't be hard to play "hit and miss."
