Would the path check make any diffrence, for instance: it not being able to find the php binary, mogrify, convert and the composite?

I can't tell the exact path but try this /usr/local/bin/php maybe its your lucky day

also how come at the end of the install, it doesent load, all there is, is a white screen which happens over and over when you refresh the page.

Its maybe because it can't find the php bin. Better contact your host and ask

Blank white page usually always means an error is occurring. You will not see the errors if the servers version of php is configured to not display errors. Instead it is most likely logging the errors.

Check you error logs.

i would ask first where you installed at, which host?

how was it uploaded?

and can you get the phpinfo() on the server?

all servers are not compatible with dolphin, and if you are on a shared account, there are several things that could be improperly configured for dolphin.

for the site to not load, as deano indicates there is an error and most times the white page, would indicate a 500 error. which again, in not seeing the 500 error page, would indicate a misconfigured server.

the 500 error is likely being caused by the htaccess, as some hosts dont allow custom htaccess to run. the other known issue that causes a 500 error on install is file permissions being incorrect.

Ah. Well we may as well stop here.

Most all FREE hosting is not up to the specs needed to run dolphin. Make sure your hosting plan meets all of the requirements of dolphin per this page. http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/wiki/DolTech

I guess DosDawg is right, we should have asked that question first.

i have been installing dolphin from version 5.6, and i seldom ever have an installation problem. not that i have never, because there were at times some issues with dolphin itself. however, if you are installing on a server that is compliant with the server requirements provided by the developers, and you have taken into consideration that you need to check that the server meets these requirements, then you will seldom face install issues.

I'm late, but...

  1. Dolphin will not work on a free hosting provider; and
  2. even if Dolphin works on a free hosting provider, it won't run well; and
  3. no matter what the result is, the hosting provider will not be happy.
