Hi All,
Is anyone else having the same problem in trying to install Dolphin 6.1.6 via Fantastico using a web hosting company promoted by Boonex?
I've been experiencing 404 page errors and have done research with my web hosting company who advising that it is a scripting error and not a web hosting error; therefore, I need to address the issues with Boonex. So what I'd like to know is, is anyone else having similar issues as:
Not Found
The requested URL /index/video/all/10/1 was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.63 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_jk/1.2.25 Server at friendsforalladults.com Port 80

I don't know why this did not hit me in your other thread you started on this topic, but this error.
The requested URL /index/video/all/10/1 was not found on this server.
Is very common, and most of the time it is caused by missing htaccess file, or mod_rewrite not enabled on the server.
If this is the host you mentioned in your other forum post, and your using their auto installer then this should not be occuring. You should contact them about this.

My web hosting company is looking into this issue at the moment and believe that will be able to have a resolution within 48hrs.
Because of the high demand for Dolphin 6.1.6, the web hosting company introduced a new installer two days ag. They're not sure what the problem is, as they did not get time to conduct intensive tests.
Will keep the forum updated.

Hi Everyone --
I've been having the exact same trouble on an apache2 server, and I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out what's wrong. There are 404 errors for the following:
*member profiles
*blogs
*photos
*videos
*music
*groups
*classifieds
*events
*articles
Oddly, certain sections *do* work -- I can upload music, but I get a 404 for "My Music Gallery". I can create groups, but I get a 404 for the "All Groups" link. Polls work, but articles do not, etc.
The mod_rewrite extension sounds promising, but please please share any information you get back as how to correct these 404s.
Thank you,
pablo

UPDATE:
Found it. According to the troubleshooting documentation, the proper way to fix this problem is to create a root .htaccess file allowing rewrite rules for every single section that wasn't working.
It makes a lot of sense, and everything works perfect now! Pays to RTFM!
