Invite by Invitation only?

OK I give up how do you invite a person to join if you set your site to be "Join By invitation Only?"

 Yes, sometimes, Dolphin is not so friendly-use but if you Login into your Dolphin and go to the end of the page,  There, where no one else goes.  You will find links for About Us, FAQ, Terms of Use and... hey.. Invite a Friend.  Nice?  Like a treasure hunting.

Yes I was aware of that invite a friend and will test it with some of the non-members to follow the process thank you for the path it is always good to confirm what you "think" you know................

last time i checked join by invitation was a bumbling farce. because you can invite yourself just by knowing any memberID. passing the URL (your own invite) through the browser, you are able to circumvent the join by invite only gig. 

where does this email address get stored, and just out of curiosity here, how would this possibly work, say like for instance, the email address i use as my general email address is not the email address i use when i join sites. 

so if you were to invite DD@bigdawg.com, but i use littledawg@smalldawgs.com as the email address that i join sites with. then how would that work out?

nathan paton, and myself done some investigatory work, and discovered that join by invite only was not functioning at that time. this may have changed, havent heard, nor have i tested on 7.0.7

though i am not really even sure this pertains here, since your heading says "Invite by Invitation only?" and i would have thought the process to be "join by invitation only"? 

You could just NOT  approve those you do not want

uncheck the top and bottom box and they will have to wait for your OK to join

Really? Is that the answer? Just make it so you have to approve everyone? And how do we go about doing that? How do we know if they were actually invited, or swiped the url with the idFriend? I don't want to have to approve potentially hundreds of registrants that I have no idea if they were really invited or they swiped the link off a message board somewhere.

This is a security risk and it is still an issue, even in 7.1. You would have thought they would have addressed this in the update. 

 DosDawg,  you are completely right.  Hope the new D7.1 bring this fixed.
