Three years ago I launched an adult oriented dating website, similar to adultfriendfinder.com in content. When I was researching for the dating script I would buy I was looking into Boonex, Abledating, Aspnetdating, DB and several others. I decided to go with DB and to tell you the truth it has worked great for my needs, in fact I´m still using it and my website has grown from 0 to 100K users. The problem is that the company that created it has had some financial difficulties and has stopped further development of the software, in fact, the company no longer exists, so it´s been over a year without upgrades and their support staff has gone from several people to only one, and altough he has been extremely helpful, it´s hard for him alone to keep up giving support to several clients at the same time. And I´ve been having problems with extremely high server loads for over a year and he hasn´t been able to help me fix that.
So now my website feels and looks old, like a website from 1995 and altough last year I bought licenses from Abledating, ASPnetdating and Skadate I`m still looking for the right one to replace DB. Abledating is the worst choice I made when buying a dating script, it is a complete mess. ASPnetdating is better but still not quite what I needed, I even had all my website transfered to ASPnetdating but my members didn´t like it at all so I had to switch back. And I bought Skadate for another website I´m developing and it looks good... but Boonex looks a lot better.
So as you see, I´ve invested quite a bit in dating scripts, installations, customizations, database transfers, etc... and still I haven´t found one that I completely feel is the right one for my site. And I don´t want to make the same mistake again, do you think Boonex is a good choice for something like adultfriendfinder? Would it handle 100K+ users with no problem? Is Boonex really customizable? Can I change the template design? I have seen several Boonex websites and they all look pretty much the same.
I´d really appreciate any toughts or comments you might have.
