License trouble

I have a free license.  I don't have the admin link on the floating linkbar anymore, so I have to type "administration" in the address bar to get to my admin panel.  When I click on advanced settings to get to the variables, the arrows to open the fields are missing...also the boonex news is not loading in the admin panel.  My co-admin used my license number for another site he had started.  I got a new license for THAT site and now I can't get to mine to empty the field to reset MY license, any help would be appreciated.  I attached a screen shot so you can see what i mean

Tried following the steps in the forum HERE and unfortunately I had already reset my license, now it shows UNREGISTERED and there is no remove or reset button...help.  Oh, and my page blocks won't load either

If you have reset your license here at Unity, all you need to do is this:

- Login to your Admin Panel

- remove the license key that is currently there, save it, then completely logout.

Important: Log back in to your admin panel via www.yoursite.com/administration (do not login to your site first then go to admin panel)

It should prompt you to enter a license. Enter your license key and click submit.

Thanks for responding. It did not work, I logged in from www.code3space.com/administration and it takes me right to the dashboard.  My license is still in there, I can't get into the variables to delete the license number and log out of my site.  I don't know if my co-admin cancelled out my license when he used it for the other site and that may be why I can't do very many admin actions...but the fact remains, I can't get into the variables because it will not expand for me. Is there any other way to remove my unregistered license?

If the area does not expand it indicates a possible javascript problem with either your site or the browser you are using.

Try a different web browser.

did not work with either browser, but I can go onto another site and it all works fine... see attachments.  The expand arrows are missing, I don't even know if this is a problem with the license, I don't know if one site is disabled when the same license number is used for another site... I can't change the status of a member, can't get into my page blocks, can't send a mass mail...many other things. The only thing i can think of is that when my co-admin used the license for firefighter.code3space.com, it disabled code3space.com.  Hopefully I can get it going without doing a re-install

Now I just found my facebook connect doesn't work either...man-oh-man What did I do?

If the variables will not expand, you have an issue with your caching..You need to turn it off. The problem is, you are gonna have to do it via the database. Do you know how?

No i do not ... can you walk me through it?

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

Go into your cPanel, access MyPhpAdmin, click the database you are using to open it up. Click the SQL tab in the right window and run this:

SELECT *
FROM `sys_options`
WHERE Name LIKE '%cache%'

Edit the following items by clicking the pencil icon. Delete the value 'on' to where its blank and hit GO. (you need to do this for each of these)

enable_cache_system

sys_template_cache_enabled

sys_template_cache_css_enabled

sys_template_cache_js_enabled

sys_db_cache_enabled

sys_pb_cache_enabled

This will turn off all caching. MAKE A DATABASE BACKUP BEFORE EDITING THESE VALUES

You will need to manually clear the /cache (except the .htaccess file) and /cache_public directories using a FTP client.

Still nothing. I did everything as you outlined it, logged back in with the ../administration and it took me right to the admin dashboard, went to adv settings, still can't get in..  The other site still works fine

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

just checked the cache and cache_public and they are full again, too

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

OK did it again, just to be sure, and still does not work, one little difference, the cache_public is now still empty... guess I'm gonna have to do a total re-install.  Thanks for trying to help.  You definitely know a lot more than I do ... lol If you think of anything else, please give me a shout.  Will start on a install in the morning if no response.  Thanks

Strange.. I had the same thing happen to me once and doing the steps I pointed out resolved it for me.. Are you running a custom template?

nope using uni template, I did, however, try to change the common.css, after it didn't work, I put my backup copy back in and all worked fine till blubberhead copied the license for the other site.  I don't think he did anything else though

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

sys_template_cache_image_enable still has an "on" in the value field, do I need to clear that one too? would it make a difference?

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

turn off these too:

enable_cache_system

sys_template_cache_compress_enable

See if that helps

Clear the /cache (not the .htaccess) and /cache_public directories after that as well.

still nothing...

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

Are these values fields supposed to show "on" when i go back into them? if so, they are not.  All the fields are staying empty

Quote · 16 Jul 2011

The values for these should be blank.. they should NOT be 'on'

Well, I deleted the license number from the database, logged back in and it is as if I did nothing...
