Link sharing on Outline?

Currently, when a user shares a link, it only shows up on their individual Timeline. However, photos and videos get posted on both their Timeline and the Outline. Is there a way to get shared links to show up on the Outline, as well?

When something is posted directly to user's Timeline it's displayed only there. When something is posted on the site (like blog post, or photos albums) it's displayed on the site Outline/Timeline and author's Timeline.

I understand that. What I'm asking is how's come it's not possible to share a URL on the outline in the same way I can share a URL on my timeline? The only option is "Sites" which is not the same. For instance, I want to share an article I found on outsideonline.com... I can do this on my Timeline, but I can't do this on the Outline since it's not an option to embed a URL.

Yes, another options is posting link in Sites module.

Actually Outline and Timeline are a bit different things:

- Outline displays only recently posted content

- Timeline displays more actions and allow to post directly into Timeline
