Log and LOG seem to HANG up. Takes 60 seconds

When a client logs in there is a "Please Wait" message that comes up and it seems to take about 60 seconds for the site to let you in.  Then most everything seems to run smoothly.  When you log out the "Please Wait" returns for another 60 seconds or so.  VERY TROUBLING!

 

I also saw a small frame at the bottom of the page that says CONNECTING ...

 

I paid to have someone customize the site for me about 2 years ago (Dolphin 7).

Would this possibly be a fix that with your advice I might be able to fix myself?

If not, could I possibly pay someone to take a look at fixing it for me.

What custom work was done and what does the "connecting" mean? Did you always have this issue, or did this recently start?

Thank you for offering me some assistance.

1) What custom work was done?

     - Most of the work was to adjust the way the member's profile page would look.

    - And to help setup a membership payment with with our bank's gateway.


2) What does the "connecting" mean? 

     - See the attached image and look in the bottom left corner.  


3) Did you always have this issue, or did this recently start?

     - It just started in the last month.  But it has become a major headache for me and our members.

The "Connecting" is from the browser, and it's from trying to load this URL on the page:

Seems it doesn't load. Find where it's located and remove it, or fix the URL.

 

Edit: Looks to be in /templates/base/css/common.css. So remove/fix it and clear cache.

 

For the other issue, have you made any changes to the server lately? Moved? I don't remember if 7.0 has the Host Tools (Admin Panel > Tools > Host Tools), but if so, please post a screenshot of it.
