Log in as User WITHOUT Deans Tools?

Deans Tools is now defunct and it appears that for the immediate future, its going to stay that way.

It will not cleanly install on 7.3

So.. is any OTHER way to log in as a user? Its not nefarious or devious. Its to assist with issues. And it was a HUGE feature of the now crippled Deans Tools.

It depends on what you want to do, but you can log on as a user and modify their profile for starters. You may be able to do a lot more, but I've never tried. maybe you can try and let us know what you achieved:

Admin/Members. (Second item in the left panel.)

Click a member's Name and it will take you to their profile edit page.

Click the members Photo and it takes you to their profile.

Probably not what you're looking for, but you could try AntonLV's subprofiles mod, then create a non-admin support account to temporarily assign users to that profile for you to log in as them.  Once the issue is resolved then remove them as a sub profile.

Deanos does still work, you just need to do more manual labour.

Before upgrading, it helps to save all the member log-in URLs. You will then see a pattern if you look closely at the string. For new members joining after the Dolphin upgrade, you will need to get the p= from your database table.

My site isnt even launched. so no. not being intrusive. but I have 4000 demo accounts and im using many of them to test certain areas of the site. So im afraid your way doesnt work. im not asking how to change their profile. im asking how to log in as a user. Doing so, i can test certain membership levels.

Thanks though, Demmy. Ill just do the old fashion log out/log in.  Its just that Deans Tools made it much faster and easier in the past.

This ISNT an upgrade. Its a CLEAN install of both 7.3 AND deanos tools! And it DOESNT Install!

you are going to have to create test users just like any other normal user - create the account - assign membership level - and play. There is no way to log in as a user just because you are admin

 Can we please stop with the "no kidding"" replies? Im asking if there is anything else like Deans Tools around. thats it! yes. I KNOW how to create an account. I KNOW how to assign a membership. and I KNOW how to manually test. i was ASKING for a tool to make it faster. And if Deanos tools WAS working, there WOULD be a way to log in as a user "BECAUSE" Im an admin. The mere fact its not is why im here.

Modzzz Admin Tools almost does the same thing. I was using Deanos tools as well.. Just would be nice if he added the SQL Query

When you log in as Administrator and go to the Profile page of a member, there is the option in the Actions Block to "Login as Member".
