Log out inactive users, how to?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to log users out after a certain time of inactivity?

I'm obviously not a php developer but it can't be too hard to kill a session after a few minutes of inactivity. I havent found anything here in the forum but if someone would like to help out it would be much appreciated!

There is a setting for that in admin:

Administration -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Other -> Time period in minutes within which a member is considered to be online:

Yes I have seen that setting, but it doesnt seem to cut the connection between the user and my server.

The simple messenger for example keeps calling the database although i have been inactive for 2 minutes, that is if that variable is minutes?

What i want is to completely cut the connection to the db and in the best of worlds log the user out to a "logged out page".

At least i figured that much out now, the Advanced Settings -> Other -> Time period thing only sets the amount of minutes you should be shown online AFTER you have logged out.

What i need is an automatic logout when the user is inactive for xx minutes. I think this would serve us all good since inactive users do consume traffic to the db. Especially if you have any of the messenger apps installed and some things that auto updates on the member menu.

Any help would be appreciated.
