Logged member greeting sending as vistior?

I have message monitor installed (great mod btw) and I noticed that some of my logged in members sent greetings to other members, but the template  used for that greeting was one of a visitor.  has anyone else run into this problem and how can I look for the issue within the code.

Now, does anyone know why this could be happening?

Sort of halfway related (not quite, maybe), but I've noticed that when a member clicks the "You can send a greeting in return..." link, it sends the greeting as if it were from a visitor, even though the "from" id is included in the url.  If they wait until they are logged in to return a greeting, it uses the member template.
