Loving V7

Hey, just signed up and was checking out the beta, makes V6 look like crap, its has so many more user interaction features,  My main thing is, i've had my site up for 4 days and have already over 100 members, I am thinking of installing V7 beta to get used to it running, is there anyway i can have it connect to my exxisting database? or at get the profile details and users from the database in the new beta?

No not at this time since the database structure is COMPLETELY different from any other version below 7. They are building a migration tool for user with older versions of dolphin, but I dont know how far back they are going to go.

i got the latest version just the other day, so as long as it is included for that. Cannot wait to have this happening. cannot wait for the RC to come out :D

Agreed. If you currently have ver 6.1.6, then the migration tool incorporated in D7 is suppose to work already with that one. So I would suggest installing D7 in a subdirectory and running the migration tool to bring over your current members, photos, videos, etc.

You can do this now, but DO NOT run ANY of the betas as a live site. Wait for an RC. Betas are strictly for testing purposes. Thats why I said to install in a subdirectory and NOT mess with your current site.

I just have to chime in here... While D7 is function crazy... Some of us have more options still on the D6 sites, it all depends on what your looking to do.
