Magic Quotes Deprecated Problem

I'm having a problem on my server with magic quotes.  According to the installation instructions, it is required.. but my server would have to be downgraded.  Does anyone know how important this is or if a fix is coming.

Here is where I see the issue:

/periodic$ php cron.php
PHP Warning:  Directive 'magic_quotes_gpc' is deprecated in PHP 5.3 and greater in Unknown on line 0

So I looked it up on the PHP website:

Here is from php's site:
This feature has been DEPRECATED as of PHP 5.3.0 and REMOVED as of PHP 6.0.0. Relying on this feature is highly discouraged.

Do I need to force my host to downgrade PHP in order to run Dolphin 7?

Thanks,

Bryce

In PHP 5.3, this feature has been deprecated, meaning it has not been removed, but will be in the next major release. The next major release where this will be removed is PHP 6.0. You have nothing to worry about, as it is just a warning, and still functions as expected. Dolphin will use an alternative solution when PHP 6.0 takes the place of the current release.
