Make email in join not mandatory

I unchecked the mandatory in the fields builder -> join form but still I need to enter an email address in the join.php form.

How can I make this field NOT mandatory ?

Check the max and min field as well.

I could be wrong but I think email is one of the fields Dolphin needs to function.

I checked every field and emptied them, but still I have to enter an email address.

As was stated, you really should leave the email as it is.

Guess I have to or create a fake email address.

Some of the users have no email ... yes, those people still exist 

It can be done. I tested it on my site, it works.

Edit the email entry in the profile fields builder.

Go to the advanced tab. Make sure everything is empty there. Mandatory must be unchecked, Minimum value must be empty, Unique must be unchecked, and the check field must be empty.

Yes, it can be done; however, the question is should it be done?

You will need to make some other changes, for one, you will have to handle resetting of passwords if a member forgets their passwords because members won't be able to get a new one emailed to them.  Without an email in the system, they won't get any email notifications of any kind.

If there isn't an email address and the system tries to send a notification how does Dolphin handle it?

Are the people who don't have an email address aware they're free? 

 LOL! If they do, they are retards. You need an email to even be on the net. The FEW (and I do mean few) that manage to get on the net without an email address are going to be so few and far between, you'll probably never see one in your lifetime.....

If you drop the email, you remove the last level of protection required for China to just take over your s__t and have a field day with it.
