Map of modules not working since a few days

on all my sites and also on the boonex testsite the map is not working.

if i add a group or event, the map shows "location undefined"

did google change something or is maby now a key needed?

who has also this problems?

i think the complete map function, also profiles not working

We missed to updated Google Geocoding routine from v2 to the current version.

Google said that their Google Maps API v2 would stop working 8 March 2013 (some present to the international women day).

However they stated that they will extend until to 13 Sept 2013.

Despite the extension period geocoding service start to generate 610 status error from 8 March - missing maps api key.

Is this also needed for module "map_profiles" in dolphin 7.0.9? I changed it in BxMapModule.php, but is it compatible ?

Edit: the changes should not call http:// this leads to broken certificates on sites running https://

GoogleURLs should be accessed either http or https depending on the sites protocol

 I think a similar change needs to be made in BxZIPModule.php to enable zip code search...
