Media Player Help

I have Configured Rays however when I upload an mp3 it shows uploaded but I get 00.00 and it won't play

I'm Very sure it's me doing something wrong

Please Help

I had that same issue, I think I need to go back over my steps on how I got it to work so I can write it in my blog. Any who, are your read and write permission settings all clicked  in your music file?I had this same issue, I figured I wouln't pass you over because I definitely know how that feels. that tends to happen alot in this FORUM, for some odd reason. I'm going to try to add  this to my blog sometime tonight just in case checking your permission file doesn't work. Sometimes it seems as if it din't uplaod because of the 00:00 you see, but once you press the play button it will load up an play. Weird I know but that is the case sometimes.

Some questions:  Have you tried uploading videos and are they OK?  (If you haven't, try a few and see if the same thing happens.)  Is ffmpeg installed correctly?  (RMS is not responsible for music or video processing.)  Who is your hosting company?  (The issue could be there.)

When 00:00 has occurred for me, it was because it didn't process properly.  In the case of videos, it would play up to the point of failure.  My solution was to find a new host.

Same issue here and I don't think anyone is doing anything wrong. I mean, what can a person really do wrong here?

First, create a new sound album. Then you see the window which tells you that there are no sounds in this album, so to add some click here ... where the click here part is an obvious no brainer. Then you click the link and you receive the option of uploading sounds with the regular uploader, or with the flash uploader. Again, a no brainer since either should work and since, if one doesn't, you'll be able to try again with the other uploader later.

Well, using the regular uploader provides me with a busy signal forever ... or until a click to go somewhere else.

Using the flash uploader eventually provides me with a success message, then the screen to repeat i.e. add more sounds comes back.

Neither of these upload options works for me! What truly irritates me at this point is that I made damn sure that our new, top notch, fully loaded server has all of the bells and whistles to support D7, and even more importantly, I paid to have our D7 installed professionally by someone who comes highly recommended from Boonex. So now I have to assume that the sound function is simply BS that won't work right or at all on some or all servers?  What's up with that ???

I have a recommended host from boonex and its loaded properly I can play video so I'm at odds ends here

Check to make sure your /flash/modules/mp3/files is set to either 755 or 777 according to how your server is setup.  Since videos work, then the uploading process sounds like it is working correctly.

It doesn't make a difference !!!

There's a place in the admin section where you can check all of the file permissions. In my case they all showed up as correct - GREEN - same as the already existing preferred file permissions in the column next to mine. Just for the heck of it I went ahead and changed the files permissions from 777 to 755 like all of the folders before it ... but it made absolutely no difference. With either setting the regular uploader gown on forever and the flash uploader shows success ... even though no sound files can then be found anywhere.

If there was at least some kind of an error message to go on, then it wouldn't be so frustrating ....
