I have limited my modules, and I do not want the Video module at all on my site. Despite trying everything, I find no way to remove it from Profile and especially the one that is on the Member Menu Bar (This is the status bar that shows at the very top or bottom of the screen.
Any one shed any lite on how this can be achieved please.

That video's items stored in sys_menu_member. Delete it from there PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first |
Sorry, how do I get to it please? |

SashaE; how do I get to this in the admin, where is it please?
|
Your should delete it via your phpmyadmin. see the attached image 1.jpg · 77.2K · 103 views PS: If possible do not write me personally, please try to ask on the forum first |
Thanks SashaE. Once I delete it from the DB using Myphpadmin how do i bring it back in the future if the need arises? |
I would advise making a copy of any deleted or modified file beforehand. Sleepless |

OK SashE, I did find it using phpmyadmin, thank you so much.
A couple of questions;
What if I need to restore it at a future date? How would I do that?
Whilst using phpmyadmin, I noticed that it also has a Active field (1,0), it is set to 1, can I change that to a 0 - would that do the same thing? Rather then deleting it?
Please help and advise.

Yes, instead of removing it, simple change it from 1 to 0 and you should be just fine ;) |

I tried that and it did not work. Do you think I have to do something else like clear cache (which I hear a lot of)?
|
Yes
All manual database changes require the cache be cleared. If not cleared, the change will not take effect.

Aha! Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback, I will try that a bit later and see how it turns out. So basically I could do that with all the ones I DO NOT want shown on the Profile that appears on the Member Menu Bar - Correct? |

Ok this did not work. Using myphpadmin, I changed the Active 1 to 0 and then went to my Dolphin Admin page and Cleared Cache, nothing happened. I still see video when I click on Profile that sits on the Member menu Bar.
Unless I have to clear Cache in my Admin of the Cpanel? Please advise.

Hopefully someone will be able to shed light on this for me please? |
Got the impression Active was for the item to be active or not. My fault here.
Instead i did try out to unmark the 2 tick boxes for Visible for: Guest, Member and then the menuitem disapeard from the menu.
If you change this from the phpMyAdmin, then simple unmark the non & memb and save it. Seems that if it's not visible for anyone it disapear from the menu.
Wounder tho what the field Active have for purpose .. |

Not a problem, we are all trying to learn from each other. Appreciate your feedback.
Does it disappear from the Members Menu Bar? You know the thin bar right at the top or bottom of the screen? That is where the issue is?

I did a quick test by a subelement of the Files menu, the Calender and it did disapear after cleaning the cache ofcus ;)
Else just test it for yourself, you dont destroy anything as long as you know what you changed.
It's 22.30 here and i'm going for my lunch now ;)

I will have to try later as am tied up in meetings for the next few hours. So I will get back to you later.
I would like to keep this chat here so others can benefit.
