Member Selected Redirect to Page after login

Is there a module in the market, or has anyone coded, a way for the Member to choose where they wish to go after logging in?  Some like to go to their profile page, some like to go to their account page, some might want to go to some other page besides the standard profile or account.  As it stands now, I can redirect to any page now for everyone; however, letting the member decide would be really nice feature.

This is a really nice idea Geek_Girl!

Do you mean a permanent check-box on their account or you could alternatively create a custom page with links to different areas and then set that as the default log in redirect for them to choose each time they log in :)

All for one and one for all....ah sod it who am i kidding!

You could modify the "Redirect to any page after logon" module by deano92964 to do this. I'm not aware of any other, "off the shelf" module that would do this for you

Yes, they would need a form where they go to and choose the page to redirect to.  The items to choose from would be set by the admin; most likely by editing the form manually.  The member's choice is then saved so that each time they log-in, they go to their "home page" so to speak.

I will look into doing a module for this.

What you you feal would be more appropriate. A page that you send the member to so they can select what they want to use as a home page. Or a drop down selector in the join and profile edit forms.

I would add this to either the profile edit page, or the account page; whichever one can be done; if possible.  There is an Account Control block on the account page and if it could be added there, that would be the best place as it makes the most sense.  How much is involved in doing it that way?

Edit: not sure about the join form, new members probably wouldn't really know what page they would want to set as their "Home Page".  I think just defaulting to the standard redirect page for Dolphin is suitable for the join form.

Unknown yet. I have to look into it. It would be at least a week before i can get to a new project anyway. I am drowning in work already.

 Understood.  Thanks.

 As always thanks Deano.

I would like this as well.

The highlight is my choice. Laughing

Account page or profile edit page, no big deal to me either way.  As for the join form, I assume I can just disable that.  The main thing for me is the member selected redirection, not where it it set.

Modzzz has a member redirect module in the market; seems to cover all we wish: http://www.boonex.com/m/redirect

Thought I would mention it since Dean since he was rather busy and might be some time before he could code a module.
