Member profiles and moderator problems?

To anyone that can help,

  1. I can add a moderator… I can login as a moderator… Is there a way to assign other task or grant access to other maintenance functions of the site other than just approving members , banning, etc???

I don’t want to give total access, like a second admin… but I would like for them to be able to help with other content management – All the stuff under the admin content menu?

  1. Editing member profiles and status (membership level).  Is there anyway for admin to edit a user’s account info?  Or assign a membership levels in the admin panel (give some one a higher membership privilege for free)?

Explanation: I am using the software for a customer that wants access to features of the Admin, but I don’t want them to screw something up that could cause me hours to track down.  They will need some basic stuff like the content section of the admin, but I don’t want them to be able to access the rest.

Is there a moderators or admin privilege mod that can be purchased?

I do want to add that I love the flexibility of the Dolphin software.  I know it is impossible to write a box of tricks that meets everyone’s custom needs.  Thanks for your help!

Hey EyeBlast, I want to do something similar, have you found a way around this?

.

Actually what I want to do is have more different types of users, a lot more, and sub categories of users, and customize what fields each profile might personalize.

.

For example, currently there's only members, affiliates and moderators, and I would like to have user type 1, 2, 3 and each of these to have sub categories: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and so on, and be able to modify this in fields builder->edit profile/view profile (there you can customize which fields are available for each type of user: admin, member, moderator, visitor).

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you guys (especially EyeBlast). It appears that nobody has done this before.

PLEASE how do we allow moderators to actually be able to have privileges like creating forum topics?

Hi , i just want to add a "tip" for changing members profiles. may or may not help. I have a couple of dolphin sites running, and both are "family-oriented" and i see that dolphin installs fake members to look like others are signing up on your site to encourage others to do the same. Well, some of the profiles have almost naked pics, and all have almost same names, and say something like ugg boots etc. I found a cool way to fix. I log into my site, www.xxxx/administration, and it shows how many members etc.. i click on that, then at the bottom of page, it shows each member. You have to do this while being an admin and logged into admin, not home site.

so i click on one of the members that dolphin installed. and i go into their profile. i can change their name, and all their stats, single, city etc. I leave the email address the same, and i changed each other those members profiles, password. then save. and then log myself out, and then log back into the www.mysite.com/administration, and do the same with next member down the list. i wiped out the ugg boots etc. and put what ever. The key to this is: when giving each one a new password, i give them all the same password. that way, when iam on the front-end of site.. www.mysite.com i can log in as a diff. member dolpin installed, and don't have to remember what i changed, and who's password. all passwords are the same. then i can go into the person's profile after logging out as admin, and log in as the member. first, editing pics. i go into their pics, not site pics and delete all the bad ones. then i go into avatar. Now, even though i deleted pics, there still may be a bad avatar pic, so i delete avatar pic. Now, basically its cleaned up. But now, here comes the bonus. i can add my own ads onto their profile. like google affiliate network, commission junction, link sys, etc. my affiliate banners.  so on ads click on post ad, then the categories, i havent added more but i used, under custom values price tabs : for sale, and miscellaneous. And on custom value price, i entered 0 and the yr. 2012, for current as of this posting.  its just a copy and paste deal, but its worth it. and on description, i click on html, and load my code, load my own description beneath, can copy n paste that of your advertiser details, and then i use snippet. for adding an associated image even though it shows up in html, now, a pic, not just text, will show up on the ads..guess what, these arent those fake members' ads, they are yours.. snippet tool, i can snip whatever image i need, even when sites, try not to let you, right-click and copy a pic and save. its cool. i made a file  for all my ads, and save them there on my desktop. any questions. ask me. so i made a real looking member profile, can add videos, etc, ads, pics, what ever. check out my site; www.thebossmarketinggoup.com see ads at the bottom right. those are mine and look like members. pretty cool.charla
