Membership Levels (what am I missing)

When a user clicks the "Join Now" button, I want to give the option of signing up for the Gold Membership (which I added on my membership levels).  The problem is that this "gold membership" option does not show up.  The "Join Now" button goes to the standard sign-up form and does not show the different levels of membership.

Am I missing something?  Shouldn't the membership options be on the sign-up form?

The way D7 is designed, you allow them a "Promo" period before Membership is discussed to allow them a "trial" period. During the Promo you may wish to offer a glimps of what Gold Membership is like. After the Promo Period them are added as a Standard Member and all the limitations it has.

That would be when they sign up as an actual Gold Member. At least thats what it looks like the process is, I havn't actually tinkered with a Higher Level than standard, but Promo did switch to Standard on my default installation.

So after the set promo period, is the user automatically sent a option for the gold membership?

My understanding is that if you have a "Gold Membership" as an additional membership other then Promotional or Standard that your members would need to subscribe to that membership, or would on the Standard Membership.

I could be wrong though.
