Are you talking about the actual permissions, or the levels? I'm just making sure before I write another essay. In the event of the actual permissions, they are self-explanatory. As for the levels, they are also self-explanatory. We have non-member (guest), standard (registered member) and finally promotion (promotional membership). The promotional membership is most used for new members, who can be given this membership level to get a feel of your site and its premium-membership offerings (if you have this). If you don't have any payed-access usage on your site, then you can just disable promotional membership.
It is also very easy to view what permissions each level has, and it is also very easy to edit these permissions. For example, if I wanted to deny guests access to any content, I would open up the non-member level, select all permissions and disable them. Or, if I wanted premium members to have access to the videos, I would first create a level called "Premium," and then give the level permissions for as much as the content as you would like, including the video features. I would then also do this for the promotional (which would have been done already, if not touched) and remove the permission from the non-member and standard levels. And if premium membership cost money, you can also set a price for it.
