Messenger

Can you please tell me how i keep the messenger open while looking around the site. Someone asked me yesterday. I think them messenger is the greetings? and both have to be online for this to work?

Otherwise i dont know where or how to use a private messenger to work .

If you are talking about the one on one chat located in the member menu bar, then yes, that should stay open as one moves through the site.  If it isn't, then something is interfering with the chat.
