Method(actionHome) was not found in module(feedback)

I get "Method(actionHome) was not found in module(feedback)" after selecting feedback from the members menu at the bottom of the screen. There is no icon there either; just a blank space. When you hover over it, it shows the page in my browser's status bar where it is going to go, and takes me to that page fine, but then displays the error message on the feedback page.

I'm not seeing an _notes directory in the feedback module's directory on my server...is this a clue?

If no one knows how to fix this, I can just remove the broken feedback blocks from all my pages that have it and create a forum topic or something to get around that right. It's purpose is just for people to make suggestions and comments about my website correct?

Do I need to spend money to make this work right?

The error message, and missing icon indicates to me that the module did not install completly.

You have not mentioned if you tried uninstalling that module and reinstalling it.

I suggest you try that if you have not done so.

Yes, I tried that as a last resort. Everything is still the same. I also re-uploaded the module, but wasn't sure if I should overwrite files, so I told my FTP client to skip existing files and only add files that are missing. Still no go. I am going about it as carefully as I know how- But that's just it, I don't know what troubleshooting protocols you webbies use outside of "make sure you back-up before you jack-up"

You should try replacing the current files and reinstalling the module, in case those files are corrupted.

whoa.....ok, It would be best I uninstall the mod- then upload the files and reload the mod with the new files, Yes?

Awwww Man! I thought it was fixed there for a sec.

Ok-

I uninstalled the old mod, Uploaded files from a newly unpacked version of 7.07, reinstalled feedback, recompiled languages, cleared all caches, went to the homepage.

Notices there was no Icon down in the members bar- Of course haven't moved a block into place yet.

Went to the main navigation menu> selected "ABOUT"

From the ABOUT page> selected FEEDBACK

Low and behold it now said EMPTY.....YAY!!!!

When to ADMIN and moved my "Feedback" block into place

Went to the Homepage and found the same scenario- An invisible icon that takes me to an alternate reality of the feedback page we life sux and the same error as before exists!

Can you guys make sens of this?

Is it the same page or isn't it?

I guess I need to go back and see this again and look closer.

Ok, this seems to isolate it to the members menu feedback block

Quote · 13 Sep 2011

Ok- Please someone tell me if this is all good:

The navigation menu block for feedback differs in this way-

_feedback_top_menu_sitem
modules/?r=feedback/index/|modules/?r=feedback/

VS.

_feedback_ext_menu_item
modules/?r=feedback/

for the members menu block

So I copied the URL from the navigation menu Feedback block and pasted it into the members menu Feedback block

so now both blocks use the same URL (That of the Feedback block in the navigation menu)

The icon appears and now takes me to the Feedback page where it says "Empty" as it I expect it should.

Am I safe?

Can anyone think of any reason this might pose hidden issues?

modules/?r=feedback/index/|modules/?r=feedback/

That seems weird to me

Why would modules/?r=feedback/index/ be piped back to it's original location? modules/?r=feedback/

and work?
