Migrating from a shared server to dedicated server

Hi,

We are attemting to migrate Dolphin from a smallk shared server to a large dedicated server, preparatory to open this project to the public.

We thought Dolphin was pretty well set up, but when we migrated the files it went to hell. My CTO thinks the issue might be the set up on a shared server Vs. copying it to a dedicated server. We spent a LOT of money (more than $1,000) hiring people to install and tweak modules and do custom work. I am not anxious to start over from the beginning.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a paid version and yes, we know we need to remove it from the old server and use the same registered url when the move is complete. We've done this before. That is not the problem.

Thank you. :)

You might be having ownership permissions depending on the new server.

If you did a direct copy of the site, you should make sure the cache folders are empty and only have the .htacess in them.

There are other things too; can you elaborate more on the errors/problems.

Yes, the move was not done correctly.  I have moved Dolphin sites from one server to another server several times.  Contact me if you are interested in procuring my services.

Thank you, both. I appreciate the help. This is a critical time for us.
