Mobile Apps

Can someone please tell me what i need to do to make it possible for my members to use their mobiles or tablets on my site.  Do i have to buy an app or is there another way.

1. Why will D7.2 make a difference. I just downloaded 7.16 last week and having work done on it now and modules installed. ?
2. Will this interfere with the modules i will have installed?
3. Will i have to do a complete new install or can i just update from 7.16?
