Module Install Issues with Dolphin 7.0

Hi guys,

I have looked through these forums to see whether or not this is a known issue. I was unable to find anything resembling the problem I am having.

Today I downloaded Donphin 7.0 and installed it.

I then installed the Orca Forum 1.0 Module, this indicated that it was successfully installed, however when I go to configure it or access it in anyway I get a 404 Error. I have checked the documentation and went through all the Permissioning setup, etc. and this is okay yet when I install Orca Forums I find that there is no directory /forum which is where the menu link points to.

I have also fount this to be the same with some other optional modules, i.e. SPY, etc.

Anyone got any advice for someone who is new to Dolphin on how to gat around this.

Cheers

Alan

Are you able to view member profiles without the 404 error?

This sounds like it could be the common missing .htaccess file issue. Check your server in the root directory of where you installed dolphin and make sure the .htaccess file from the dolphin zip file was uploaded. You may need to enable viewing of hidden files to see it.

If it's there, then your server may not have mod_rewrite installed.

Hi, alanfinan

The path to the forum would be inside your module directory as in /public_html/modules/boonex/forum. I had a similar problem when I installed a new template I purchased, it was do to missing files in yourwebsite.com/modules/boonex/forum/layout/. if you can post the exact error message you are receiving I may be able to help you.

I have removed all files from the server, re-uploaded them again, re-installed and the same result.

When I try to access the Forum I receive the error

Back to www.dromahair.ie homepage

[ Powered by Zeus Web Server ] The location the hyperlink is pointing to is www.drmahair.ie/forum/ which does not exist.I am only using what is shipped with the Version 7 download from Boonex, not using anything else no am I using any template oher than the default one at this time. All the preinstall stuff seems to be working okay.

I should also let you know that I have also tried to install Photo's, Articles, etc. and here again I get the same result.

For example the link to Photo's is http://www.dromahair.ie/m/photos/home/, but the directory "m" does not exist nor does "photos" nor "home" so "m/photos/home" is non existent or maybe a variable is not firing.

Okay, simple answer to this one, my host is not using Apache Web Server but rather Zeus so for the time being I will have to give Dolphin a miss.
