Is there a tutorial that will explain what all the modules do before I download them?

No, there isn't. What modules would you like to learn about?

All of them really. I would like a description of what it is to decide if it is something I would like to use.

Well, allot of them are really self-explanatory, but allow me some time to gather-up the list and elaborate on them.

Well some of them are self explanatory but some could use some details on what they do. For example Store....is that for me as admin to sell product or is that for all members to sell anything they want similar to ads? Or Whiteboard....what is this? Is it just a toy for members to use or ???? Or Blog...is that for me to blog or is it an app for members to blog? There are just detail I would like to know and these are just a few examples. Thank you for any info you can give to me!

I think you're thinking too hard on this matter, and should step-back a little. Anyways:

Ads: allows the posting of advertisements

Articles: allows the posting of articles, administrator-only

Avatar: allows the changing of a member's avatar to either an already-available selection, or the option to upload their own

Blog: allows the posting of blogs

Chat: allows members and administrators access to the Flash chat application

Custom RSS: custom RSS feeds

Data migration from Dolphin 6.1.6: I am not explaining this one

Desktop: the desktop application is powered by Adobe AIR and allows the use of site features such as chat and instant messaging

Events: allows the posting of events

Facebook connect: allows logging into the site using the account details from Facebook

Feedback: I'm not explaining this one

Files: allows the posting of files

Google Search: I'm not explaining this one

Groups: allows the creation of groups

Membership: allows the creating of new membership levels and permissions to access certain features and content

Messenger: allows access to Flash video messenger, which doubles as an instant messenger

News: I'm not explaining this one

OpenSocial: allows the use of OpenSocial gadgets

Orca Forum: allows the use of a forum

Payment: I'm not explaining this one

Photos: allows the posting of photos

Poll: allows the creation of polls

Profile Customizer: allows for further customization of profiles

Profiles Map: allows the use of Google Maps to show the location of members, stalker-friendly

Quotes: displays very useless and annoying quotes in the top-right corner of the site

Shoutbox: I'm not explaining this one

Simple Messenger: an instant messaging application available via the member menu for simple and quick access

Sites: allows the posting of other web sites

Sounds: allows the posting of sounds

Store: allows the selling and purchase of goods

Videos: allows the posting of videos

Wall: see Facebook, shows the activity of the user

Whiteboard: allows users to doodle on a whiteboard

All modules allow access and use by members, unless otherwise noted. Access permissions can be changed from the Membership Levels section of the administration panel.
