Hello Everyone,
I am planning to move my D7 site from the shared hosting to my dedicated server. I'd like to know what it is involved to accomplish this.
I am assuming to do these steps:
Source:
1. tar the whole site from root
2. export the databaes
3. FTP step 1 & 2 to the destination box
Destination:
1. untar the site
2. import the database
> Do I need to add any step beside the above steps?
> Also, do I need to install D7 base on the destination sever first, than transfer the site, or just importing the site should suffice..
> Do I need to do any configuration after the site has been transferred to the new box?
> Lastly, what about the custom Mods, do I need to reinstall them again, or bringing the site over should take care of the Mods as well ?
I'd appreciate any input you can share, or if there is a Doc you can refer me to, that would be very helpful.
