Multiple matching criteria question

How do you setup the search/match fields for the following scenario.

Say you have a multiple fields category for your profile, such as outdoor activites.  You make outdoor activities a multiple selector with the options of biking, hiking, climbing, soccer, tennis.  Profile A select biking, hiking for their activities.  Someone does a search to find people who like biking.  Currently the search seems to only matchup if both biking and hiking is selected.

How do I set the search params so that the partial match will appear (i.e. someone who likes biking and hiking will show up for a search of biking only?)

That would be the match percentage.  Duh

Do I need to make a pre-defined list as well or will the list options placed in the criteria box be enough?

Run into another problem if someone can chime in.

I have a list of predefined fields(example ColorEdit: red, blue, green, purple) as a check box multiple selector on the edit profile screen.  I want users to search for these colors but use the dropbox selector on the search page.  I made the box ColorSearch and made it multiple selector dropdown box, values are the exact same as in ColorEdit and told ColorSearch to match with ColorEdit, match percent 10%.

Boonex is not matching between the two, am I doing something wrong?
