Originally I posted in regards to this post: http://www.boonex.com/unity/forums/topic/photo-size-per-member-size-limit-members-.htm
because I couldnt find where the photo uploads went until recently. (I couldn't believe I missed that) but another question arised since this is done in beta 6.
I uploaded a photo that was sized at 88k. I discovered that multiple (4) photos were generated in different dimensions and sizes which belongs in different areas of the websites, such as thumbnails, etc.
Original filesize: 88k - 1200 x 900
Other images generated:
27k - 600 x 450
1k - 32 x 32
2k - 64 x 64
3k - 140 x 105
Total of generated images equals: 33k plus original photo = 121k
So, in essence, uploading a 88k image results in 121k file storage estimation.
If my calculations are correct... I realize that a LOT of disk space may be eaten up if I allowed 100k image size limit and maximum of 100 photos limit for each member. Estimating 5,000 members maxed out the limitation may produce about 10 gb of disk space more or less...
Wow, it just hit me. I haven't even gotten to the videos part yet.
My question, was the original file that was uploaded supposed to be deleted after generation? Was this is an oversight or it was implemented that way?
