What do you hope to accomplish by posting this thread without giving any background information about the events leading up to your 'twidley little flashy thingie' problem? You could at least reference the lengthy thread that outlined the events leading up to this problem. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
OK. Let me put it this way then. I finally managed to make the transfer to the new server. You were right. Because it runs suPHP, all folders and files permission must be set to 755 and 644, as for ffmpeg 755. Website runs good, no errors so far, but even I'm able to upload sounds, I'm not able to play them. If you click on any of the public sounds, it opens in a new window as it shoud, but player doesn't load... it get stuck on "loading..." file doesn't start to play... |
Will anyone from Boonex just take a look!? You are ignoring issues that customers are dealing with unless it gets messy at the end. If there weren't some guys around here like mydatery, houstonlively, dolphin_jay, magna and others, people would just start screaming!!! And where is my agent? I only reached him once ... he's never there! And the only answer I got from him >>>> aks Dowgs... or someone else. I'm so disappointed in Boonex team! |
Have you verified that ownership of all the files belongs to your user account...... especially the ones that were uploaded..... like video files. Since this issue arose when you moved your site, you shouldn't be so hasty to bash Boonex for something going wrong. Boonex is responsible for problems with their script....not issues in moving a site from one server to another. Finding someone to blame for your problems isn't going to get you much sympathy around here. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Correct me if I am wrong here, but the files folder should be chmod 777 as well as the ffmeg file. Also, sense you just moved servers, make sure the file permissions on the songs themself are set correctly. ~Simion~ http://1Faze.com ~ Custom Dolphin Development. ~ Dolphin Consultation |
He's running suPHP.....DON'T tell him to chmod anything to 777! My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |
Sorry, I missed the suPHP part... you are correct... Also I stated "please correct me if I am wrong" :P ... clearly I was. But Houstonlively is right... The user perrmissions would be a great place to start! I know how frustrating it is when soemthing goes wrong and you want t to work correctly... It is very easy at that point to find someone to blame or point the finger at. However, this is not a boonex script error. You attract more bees with Honey rather than salt ;) ~Simion~ http://1Faze.com ~ Custom Dolphin Development. ~ Dolphin Consultation |
I'm waiting for someone from Boonex to take a look at it... And don't tell me to ask my hosting provider for help cause i've got "I would therefore suggest you to contact boonex's support directly in order to make sure this issue gets investigated by the software developers.". So? Guys? I'm in the hands of "the Creator"! |
Otay. The Video files have to run through the cron job and can NOT be approved before they go through the crons. If they do get approved by Admin before they run through cron jobs, then they will NEVER run through cron jobs.
So, with that in mind: Do the music/sound files have to run through crons also and if so are they subject to the same rules as video?
Finally, when you have a ton of Video files waiting to be moderated, how do you know what has run through crons and what hasn't run through? |

Can you shed some light on how to do that please? What exactly do I have to do? I'm not an expert like some of you guys. |
Can you shed some light on how to do that please? What exactly do I have to do? I'm not an expert like some of you guys. I suppose the easiest way would be to open up your FTP client and view the permissions there. I believe Mydatery was the last to configure your web site. Can he confirm that the permissions are in order? BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |

I checked permissions using ftp and cPanel, although I think, the best way to make sure everything's set up as it should be, by SSH but I'm not familiar with that. So If some of you can just run that and make sure everythings 755 644 except ffmpeg that has to be 755, I will be glad to finally go and get some sleep after two weeks. Generally, everything's alright except that... |

I was talking about file ownership...NOT permissions. Look at your /flash/modules/video/files/ directory and see if there are any files owned by user '99' or any owner that ISN'T yours. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

Sorry, I missed that. I suppose it's what you get for logging on groggy. Still, you can check ownership levels from FTP as well. In any case when moving from PHP to suPHP, it wouldn't hurt to do a recursive chown on the public_html directory to make sure all file ownership is properly set. My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees. |

I must admit I'm a complete idiot for this one, but I'll learn in time... Still getting to know how to use those tools... I'm clueless on how to do it... Yeah, this might sound to you very strange, but not all of us are familiar with that "language" you are using and yet need step by step explanation. This is a challenge for me and I will go through all of it, but need some help for start by the ones who know the best, experiences users... |

If you have an SSH client handy, you can type the following: cd ~ chown -R /public_html Of course, change to meet your settings. But in all seriousness, you should stop bashing on yourself and try to learn to do this "down and dirty" stuff, or else you will have allot of difficulty managing the script (if not enough already). In the file /flash/modules/mp3/skins/index.php This issue was fixed by commenting out readfile ($sFile); at the bottom and inserting readfile ('default.swf'); like this: Line 16 //readfile($sFile);

If that's the fix to all this, then I am going to jump out of my second story window and onto the busy street below. BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |

RE: But in all seriousness, you should stop bashing on yourself and try to learn to do this "down and dirty" stuff, or else you will have allot of difficulty managing the script (if not enough already). Agreed. A lot of the things we talked about, are the things you learn in the first day of website school, and have nothing to do with being an 'expert'. If you are going to manage a website, you either learn fast, or hire someone to do it for you. The 'Urgent' thread title worked once.... I doubt it will work again.
