Is there a genius out there who can answer this query.
I’ve added a page which can be viewed and then placed a html block. The
thing is that this block is right at the top touching the header without the
gap which all pages have, I’ve tried to look for this but cannot find it
through ftp access as I want to edit it.
I am running a custom template on my website. Can anyone shed some light on
this issue please.

I think you pasted from ms word, right ? Just delete all these strings from file :

Have you tested this with the Uni template? BoonEx Certified Host: Zarconia.net - Fully Supported Shared and Dedicated for Dolphin |
When you cut and paste from Microsoft Word, it carries the program strings. What I normally do is, cut and paste into a program such as Note Pad and then into the page. Or you can cut and paste directly from Frontpage & Dreamweaver if you have either of these programs. |
I have a few questions:
1) What does this person's question have to do with Microsoft Word?
2) Why would you be using Microsoft Word to write whatever you're posting on a forum?

2) Why would you be using Microsoft Word to write whatever you're posting on a forum?
1) the string shown is common to the extra crap you receive when copying anything form MS Word. It is the hidden fields contained in all their documents.
2) Why not, you can spell check and grammar check your document. Also if you are writing a long document, you may want to have it safely in a separate window in case your browser times out, crashes, interservice kaputs, or like boonex, there is a character limit and you lose everything you typed.

Thank you all my reasons for the word was spell check and in case it timed out, but after all that my query has not been answered is there someone who can answer the query, and I cannot try with the unit template anymore as when I try to remove the template the website just goes as in breaks.
I don’t understand the designing of template but noticed that the template I have installed does not include a 'inc' folder wear as all other templates I have looked at do. could that be a caused of the issue. |
Templates don't have inc folders unless they are to hold special elements such as flash, and even then should not be in a folder called inc. Open the uni template and you will see the basic outlay of a template. It has 3 folders, images, css, scripts.
As to your question you need to be much more specific. We thought the question concerned the extra stuff from MS word in your post, I am assuming that is not the case correct?
1) You said you created a page, how did you create this page, did you use the dolphin page create or did you create a custom php page? How you created the page changes how to properly address the question.
2) What block is on the page, an html block, rss feed, or another. How did you create the block on the page, did you use the page builder to create the block. What is the code you placed within the block, if we can have that info we can more fully answer your question.
|
You're missing the point, so I'll ask again:
1) What does this person's question have to do with Microsoft Word?
We thought he was saying that the MS code posted was causing an issue with one of his pages and how to deal with the code. Now we know that is not the case

I created a page the normal way from within admin> page blocks > add page
placed a html block which is showing does not have the normal space between the header and the block like all other pages do.

Did you put any code into the html block or is it an empty block?
Are you using the default boonex template or custom template?
Did you change anything with the design boxes or css recently?

Some pages have a second nav, others don't, so perhaps a screen shot to point out what your seeing will help us a bit.

Did you test in the default UNI template?
I just created a new page on my site, and all is normal.
