Navigation menu Question

I am trying to remove from my home navigation menu the 'small' search icon (the magnify glass icon)....I have already removed the search button for guests  and that works fine.... but I cannot seem to figure out how to remove this second small search  nav. menu item...Can anyone tell me how to do this???

How did you remove the search button? It should be done the same way, should it not?

I suppose it'd require an edit of the menu's database information, but I don't know exactly where to look for the search item in question.

I tried that ....BUT ... it seem like removing the magnify glass icon from the menu on the home page is a different method than moving other menu items..Does any one know or can suggest how to remove this icon from my home page (its the  magnify glass icon on the menu (right side))....

I would like to know how to get rid of this too. Because if you are not logged in as a member, you can just put 1 in the search box, click enter on the key board and people who are not members of your site can gain access. This is definetely not good for me
