I have a small community coming to live slowly... but the spammers love it already. That means I have to delete 40-50 accounts which are full of spam, links to seo marketing, to blogs, to whatever, They use different e-mail addresses, so I can't block a specific host.
I have following problems:
- I've activated the confirmation in the settings. So people will get an e-mail to confirm their profile, thats pretty fine. BUT their status in the admin panel is still set to grey even if they confirmed their profile and I have to set them to active manually.
- new registered (spam) profiles are not getting activating it seems, but they appear in the spy wall. So everyone can see, that we had 30 new members with names likes "nelvmdyi", "gqafxjtj" or "lili8lud" and can view their spam profile, until I have deleted them.
So are there any options and settings to change for preventing this? How to stop that spammers before they register?
